Resend's free tier, and where the 100-a-day cap bites

Resend's free tier gives you 3,000 emails a month, but never more than 100 in a single day. Mailfully's free plan allows 5,000 a month and up to 200 a day. Resend's first paid plan, Pro, costs $20 a month for 50,000 emails and has no daily limit.

Resend's figures checked October 7, 2026, against its own pages.

What happens when you hit a limit on Resend's free tier?

100 a day, and nothing more until midnight UTC

The 100-a-day limit is the one you'll run into on Resend's free tier. One big batch of password resets can use up the day's 100 by lunchtime, with most of the month's 3,000 untouched. Resend counts a fixed UTC day, not a rolling window, so the rest of that day's mail has to wait for the reset.

Tests and received mail use up the daily 100

Resend counts test emails against your sending quota, and every email you receive counts as well. If replies or support mail come in through Resend, they use up the same 100 a day as your sends.

Should you pick Resend's free tier instead?

Resend is the better pick if you write your emails in React. React Email comes from the same team, and Resend's integration with it is first-party; with us you render the component to HTML yourself. Resend also gives a free account full production access right away, with no sandbox and no approval step.

Questions

Is Resend free?
Yes, Resend has a free tier with no time limit, covering 3,000 emails a month and 100 a day. Resend's pricing FAQ calls it a free-forever plan.
What happens when I hit Resend's daily limit?
Resend stops accepting sends for the rest of the UTC day. You can wait for the reset or move to Pro, which has no daily limit. Our free plan's 200 a day is a rolling allowance that refills gradually through the day.
Does Resend's free tier include inbound email?
Yes, Resend's free tier can receive email. Each message it receives counts toward the same quota as your sends. Mailfully's free plan receives email too. Received mail counts toward our monthly allowance, though never toward the daily cap.
